Raja Yoga

For those wishing to expand their yoga knowledge, we have prepared a raja yoga course - the royal path of yoga. The beginners and advanced courses will take place for 4 months, 2 hrs weekly. It features the philosophy and psychology of yoga, practical exercises and meditation. The course differs from our other courses in both theoretical and practical aspects. The programme is based on the teaching of one of the greatest yoga masters, Paramhansa Yogananda (author of Autobiography of a Yogi).

The raja yoga course consists of 6 parts.

1. Yoga philosophy - the love of wisdom provides the theoretical aspect

  • Who am I and where am I headed?
  • Pantanjali yoga sutras – a doctrine explaining the rules and prohibitions on the spiritual path, ways to personal and spiritual growth – and to the mind, both our friend and enemy.
  • Gunas: three universal qualities and principles of activity.
  • The importance of healthy yoga diet and active life.
  • The Bhagavad Gita, a classical Indian scripture of worldwide interest. The work explains the true nature of love and one’s mission in life through an interesting dialogue between a student and a teacher (a guru and a disciple).
  • The meaning of karma, the law of cause and effect, and dharma.

2. Yoga psychology takes us to the spiritual level of our being

  • aura and energy bodies of man
  • vritis and chakras
  • energy channels – nadies

3. Practical exercises to increase the awareness of the body
4. Practical self-healing exercises
5. Energization exercises by Paramhansa Yogananda


The exercises teach us how to consciously control and direct the flow of our vital energy (prana) through the body. We direct vital energy to all our body parts, developing the concentration and ability to use this energy in our daily activities. The exercises are based on one of the fundamental axioms of P. Yogananda: ˝The stronger the will, the greater the energy flow˝.

6. Meditation


is a state of deep relaxation, calm mind and open heart. This state bonds us with our true nature and takes us to the world of higher awareness, intuition and wisdom. Our Centre teaches traditional authentic kriya yoga meditation, taught by P.Yogananda and passed on by a continuous line of Yoga masters. Kriya yoga includes a mantra, pranayama and mudras.
